FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Future Perfect Continuous Tense is used to express a continued or ongoing action that will start at a certain time in future and last for a certain period and end in future.

Example-

Sonam will have been preparing her speech since afternoon tomorrow.

I will have been working all day tomorrow.

It is used to express the ongoing nature of action with regards to its continuation towards a point in future. The action is assumed to be continued for a time (specified or unspecified)

future perfect continuous

It is used to show that an event will continue up until a particular event or time in the future. It is mostly used with an expression such as:

  • since morning
  • for five minutes

These expressions indicate durations.

There will always be a continued time reference to show the starting time of the action and how long the action continues.

like – for a few days, for ten months, for 2 years, since Wednesday, since 2011, since January etc.

If there is no time reference, then it is not a Future perfect continuous tense. Without continued time reference, such sentences are Future Continuous Tense. Continued time reference only differentiates between Future Continuous Tense and Future Perfect Continuous Tense.
